Jack in the Box

Q1) Go to a restaurant in Olympia and have a delicious meal there. Be adventurous. Try something special that you’ve never had before.

Q2) Tell us what your meal is like. What did you eat? What was the quality of food like? What is the size? What is the cost? Give us the specific who, what, when, why and where’s of what you are eating.

Q3) Take pictures of your food.

Q4) Tell us what your meal represents for you. What is one issue related to food that you’d like to explore and discuss? What is the larger picture underlying your outing to this restaurant? Is it the ethical question of organic, local food economies, the marketing of food, the treatment of animals, or the challenge that obesity poses in the United States? Choose one issue to address and explicate.

A1) Since I don't live in Olympia, I chose to go to Jack in the Box in Puyallup. I don't eat fast food often and when I do it's usually McDonalds so it was kind of new for me.

A2) My meal was very good and filling. I had a number 6 on the Jack in the Box menu which happened to be Bacon Ultimate Cheeseburger with curly fries and a Coke. I had the choice to choose from small, medium, or large and i chose a medium sized meal. The meal I chose cost about $7 dollars after tax. After I got my food i drove back to my house (because I got it in the drive thru) where my Mom was. I sat down at the kitchen table and ate my meal.

A4) To me, the meal represents how unhealthy American's live in this day and age. One issue that this related to food that I would like to discuss is obesity in America. The ethical question that I will be discussing is the challenge that obesity poses in the United States.
